Eastern wisdom says: “If you want hot tea, first throw the cold one out of the cup.” It is impossible to let something new into your life without letting go of the old. As a rule, people do not connect events in their present lives with events that preceded them earlier. Most often, people look for the reason for what is happening today in the present tense. But usually the roots lie much deeper - in the distant past. Human life is an endless series of different events. Some of them, regardless of desire, leave a strong emotional mark on the soul. If it happened that for some reason a person was unable to devote enough time to such an event to experience it or, on the contrary, he tried to quickly suppress and forget this episode, then, most likely, the situation may repeat itself again. Since in a traumatic situation there remain feelings and experiences that require a certain “release,” a person, without allowing feelings to express themselves, accumulates tension and attracts similar stories into his life in order to relive suppressed feelings and free himself from their pressure. The past cannot be forgotten or erased from your memory. It's part of life. And if a person does not want to acknowledge it, devote time and attention to it, it begins to remind itself of itself in the present. Because the unconscious always stores all memories. It's like a vicious circle that sometimes seems impossible to break out of. Someone constantly experiences a feeling of rejection, someone from time to time, without meaning to, ends up in a love triangle, someone cannot start a long-term relationship, someone constantly meets those who psychologically suppress him. Thus, certain events are repeated until a person learns a lesson from them. The past continues to live, thereby having a significant impact on our emotional state. If there are unprocessed painful memories in the past, they will take away some of the energy and attention in the present. By processing the past, a person seems to free himself from a heavy burden that he unknowingly carried. Sometimes, wanting to protect himself from painful memories, a person spends a huge amount of energy so that traumatic events remain in the depths of his psyche and no longer cause mental pain. He convinces himself that he no longer wants to disturb his memories, that he needs to live in the present, that everything that was “painful” in his life is better to forget. But by reasoning in this way, he not only does not reduce the influence of past events on his life, but, on the contrary, allows for the possibility of their repetition. By healing his wounds, he allows the previous pain to go away, and at the same time the unconscious desire to once again repeat the past traumatic experience. The more one becomes aware of one's hidden conflicts and traumas from the past, the greater the likelihood of creating a better future. Once the memory of an important event is realized, the reasons that led to what is happening in the present can be found. Establishing a connection between similar events in itself will not change anything, but it can become a starting point from which changes will begin. If a person does not want to return to his past and tries to ignore those events that left a painful mark on his soul, then he continues to stumble upon further mistakes. Continues to look at his future through his old beliefs and attitudes, which may bring more harm to life than good. In order for the past not to drag you back, you need to give it time and attention. By closing the doors to his past, a person discovers the energy of creation for the future..
