When I was a student, I used to tell fortunes with cards, and, you know, it worked out well! At least people came again and again and said that my predictions were coming true. The cards created a special ambiance and an atmosphere of mystery, but, to be honest, I made my conclusions not relying on the layout, but only on my own intuition. Do you trust your intuition? A little scienceYou can cancel a long-awaited meeting for no apparent reason and avoid trouble, foresee the results of an interview before it even happens, or know what a person will say before he even opens his mouth. Many consider such foresight to be a special gift, but, in fact, it has a completely scientific explanation! As you know, our brain is divided into two hemispheres, each of which has its own functions: the left is responsible for logical thinking, and the right is responsible for associative perception. But it takes minutes and even hours for the left hemisphere to analyze all the details and come to some conclusion, while the right hemisphere perceives the picture instantly and as a whole. This is how the right hemisphere gives us intuitive insight, which sometimes, after a while, we can justify logically. For example, a friend of mine was offered to invest a large sum in a profitable production, but, although there was no good reason for this, something stopped him. “I don’t know why, but I don’t trust him,” he said. And a couple of months later we learned that the production capacity of the enterprise was much lower than stated and it was preparing for bankruptcy! And then he began to remember that the seller spoke somehow vaguely, and his eyes were running, and he remembered a bunch of other details! Don’t deceive yourself Intuition can be our good helper, but many times I have seen how people make serious mistakes, relying at her. For example, they invested all their money in a startup and went broke, they trusted their health to charlatans and suffered serious complications. And most often, unrequited lovers are, of course, happy to be deceived. It happens that we mistake our desires or worries for intuition, and not reality. In other words, neurosis prevents us from seeing the situation realistically. “Neurosis is the stupid behavior of a smart person,” said the great psychologist Albert Ellis, and I am convinced of his words almost every day. How else can we explain the behavior of a person who speaks rudely to a recruiter during an interview because his intuition tells him that he won’t be hired anyway? Or a girl who has been refusing the attention of men for years because her intuition tells her that her married lover is about to leave his wife and go to her? Do you tend to be deceived about people or events? If yes, then most likely you should improve your relationship with yourself and the world. Intuition is called the sixth sense, and I advise you to treat it like any other sense organ. When you have a stuffy nose or an earache, you don’t neglect treatment, do you? It’s the same here - you’ve stopped trusting yourself, which means you should become more attentive to yourself, understand what’s bothering you and how to resolve it. Rely on your instincts. Everyone can become a little psychic; we are all endowed with intuition by nature! Whether we're choosing a partner, a new job, or a babysitter, we often have to make important decisions. Where logic says: “this is right, but that is not”, intuition says “I like it - I don’t like it” or “I want it - I don’t want it.” Only by maintaining a balance between these two styles of thinking can you make the right decision.
