In the previous article - https://www.b17.ru/article/429206/ I describe my view as a practical psychologist on the causes of such a condition as depression. I think everyone understands that regardless of the degree of its severity the help of a specialist in the fight against depression will not be superfluous. But you can do something on your own in order to enhance the effectiveness of psychotherapy and shorten its duration.1. If this is not a severe form of clinical depression, when a person is unable to get himself out of bed, then one can and should resort to daily physical activity. Better long-term and better until you sweat. Let it be at first only with a great effort of your will and without any desire at all. May you not see an immediate effect. But gradually, after several sessions, you will begin to feel how optimism and good spirits return to you after jogging or swimming. The body needs to be helped to intensively produce the so-called joy hormones and physical activity is irreplaceable here, especially if you do not want to take medications.2. Fill your life with positive emotions and experiences. This could be meetings with good friends who will really support you, walks in nature, and communication with animals. Here it is appropriate to remember your once forgotten favorite hobby and return it to your schedule. For many, visiting a bathhouse, massage or beauty salon also adds pleasant colors to the palette of everyday life. Make a list (as long as possible) of what gives you even a little joy and pleasure, and then consistently include items from this list in your daily life. Consciously and systematically.3. Reflect on your global values, goals and dreams. Think about what now, at this time in your life, inspires you and helps you look forward. Perhaps you have already outgrown your previous interests and tasks. Perhaps the old meanings have long ceased to inspire you. Try to find new ones - ones that will help you become truly alive. Don't be afraid of new things. Maybe it's time to dare to do something you've long dreamed of, but didn't allow yourself to do? PS Have you ever struggled with depression? What helped best then?
