Good question...I think many people know the answer. Each of us has our own psychologist, our own everyday psychological knowledge, which we inherited from our parents, grandparents, which we learned from our life experiences, and which we use in everyday life. But everyday psychological knowledge differs from scientific psychological knowledge and does not always help. In difficult situations, most of us prefer to go to friends and ask them for advice, just speak out, go somewhere - relax, but this does not make it easier for long. Others are simply waiting for the black stripe to end and the white stripe to begin. But it may not begin. They don’t want or can’t turn to a professional psychologist. Is it possible to admit that I myself or I myself cannot solve my problem. Or how can a stranger understand and help... And yet, competent consultation with a psychologist is really necessary. It gives a person the opportunity to take a different look at his life, his relationships with people around him, make his choice, accept responsibility. So, DO YOU NEED to contact a psychologist? YES - if a person wants to solve some important problem for himself. YES - if he needs to understand himself (his inner world) and his life circumstances. YES - if he wants to survive a difficult period of life with minimal losses, and support from there are either no relatives at all, or not enough of them. And this is not a complete list of situations with which people go to a psychologist. So what can a psychologist do? A psychologist can help to see and feel the conflict situation that a person is faced with from different sides. Different people perceive the same situation differently. We have different perceptions: some people are hurt by this situation, others pass by without noticing it. A psychologist cannot change the situation, but he can work with your perception. Proficient in various psychotherapeutic methods, the psychologist helps the client gain access to previously hidden resource states, which allow them to cope with problems. The psychologist is your guide in personal growth. He supports and empathizes in a difficult situation, helps to find internal support for solving a particular situation. Long-term work with a psychologist is aimed at deep internal changes, personal and spiritual growth of a person, searching for something new in oneself and in life, and such work can last from several months to several years.
